Pauline E. LaPratt, age 97, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, following a lingering illness. Pauline was born January 11, 1910 on the family homestead in Almer Township, the daughter of the late John Alice (Cottrell) Jaques and was a lifelong Caro area resident. She was united in marriage to Alexander LaPratt on April 30, 1928 in Reese. During their married life, they raised eighteen children. Alex preceded Pauline in death on July 6, 1974. Pauline was a member of the Caro Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, and in her later years going to the Caro H.D.C. Senior Center to play euchre. She will be best remembered as a devoted mother that loved cooking and baking for her family. Pauline is survived by twelve of her children and their spouses, Betty Suranye of Caro, Louis Beverly LaPratt of Coldwater, Douglas Sue LaPratt of Unionville, Rosemary Donald Rich of Otisville, Dale LaPratt of Unionville, Arlan LaPratt of Whittemore, Larry LaPratt of Millington, Shirley Casimer Lubaczewski of Caro, Ronald Linda LaPratt of Norman, OK, Dennis LaPratt of Unionville, Keith LaPratt Chris Shaw of Fairgrove, Roger Lori LaPratt of Caro; fifty-six grandchildren, eighty-seven great-grandchildren, twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, two sisters and their spouses, Otto Joanne Jacques of Oscoda, Mildred Leveque of Saginaw, Madeline Marker of Caro; one sister-in-law, Bernie Jacques of Caro and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Pauline was preceded in death by five sons and one daughter, Francis, Leonard, Gordon, Gary and Martin LaPratt and Delores Sprouse; four brothers, Theodore, Francis, Jerome and John Jacques and two sisters, Mabel Garner and Ruth Moeller.
