Pauline N. Obertein

Pauline N. Obertein of Vassar, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. Pauline was born January 23, 1926 at home in Bay County, the daughter of the late Simon and Bertha (VanRaes) Claeys. She was united in marriage with Harry A. Obertein on April 19, 1947 at St. Norbert Catholic Church in Munger. The couple had celebrated seventy-one years of marriage when Harry preceded her in death on September 8, 2018. Pauline was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed taking care of her home and family. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening. Pauline was a member of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro. Pauline is survived by two daughters, Julie Losee of Vassar, Linda (Marc) Chambers of Caro; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Obertein-Earl; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by one son, Paul Obertein; two siblings, Albert Claeys and Leona Kuflewski; and one son-in-law, Frederick Losee. In keeping with Pauline's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services have been planned.
