Pauline Ann Scharich

Pauline A. Scharich, age 80, of Bay City, formerly of Unionville, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, at Comfort Care Assisted Living in Bay City.

Pauline was born March 21, 1939, in Unionville to Arthur and Pauline Strieter. She graduated from Unionville High School in 1957.  She worked many years as a cashier for Kroger. Pauline enjoyed sewing, cooking, painting, and spending time with family and friends. She had a very strong faith and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bay City.

Pauline is survived by her 5 children: Layne (Diane) Scharich, Lori (Michael) Periard, Linda (Bill) Leahy, Scott (Lori) Scharich, and Lisa (Richard Regan) Ray; sister, Frances (Melvin) Balzer; twin brother, Paul (Diane) Strieter; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and former husband and father of her children, Glen Scharich.

Pauline is predeceased by her parents, grandson, Chad Scharich; sisters: Betty Balzer, Velma Pluto and Caroline Strieter; and brother, Arnie Strieter.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Friday, July 19, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at Columbia Township Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran Church.
