Pearl Allen, age 85 years, of Frankenmuth, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. She was born on July 7, 1921 in Melvin, moved to Flint and then to Kingston, where she resided until 1998. The former Pearl Wilmot married Raymond G. Allen in 1941. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1990. Following her graduation from high school, she attended and graduated Tuscola County Normal. In her early years she taught in one-room country schoolhouses and then worked as a teachers aide in the Kingston School system until her retirement in 1992. Pearl loved her work with children, her childrens involvement in 4H, gardening, and her involvement in the Literary Club. She is survived by two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Daryl (Sharon) Allen of Reese, Dale (LuAnn) Allen of Marlette and Annette (Kevin) Cowhy of Frankenmuth; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wallace (Claire) Wilmot of Royal Oak and Robert Wilmot of Mayville; three sisters, Donna Everett of Hamilton, Ohio, Joyce Barrons of Caro and Shirley Powell of Caro; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Winfred Boyne. Private funeral services will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, December 22, 2006 with Rev. James Cattran (her nephew) officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
