Pearl Hampel

Pearl Grace Hampel, age 84 years, of Cat Lake Road, Mayville, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at her home. The former Pearl Grace Harbin was born on January 4, 1921, in Fremont Township of Tuscola County. Pearl was a 1938 graduate of Mayville High School. She was united in marriage to Glenn Hampel on September 15, 1938, in Angola, Indiana. Pearl spent much of her life in food service, working at the Hotel Montague, owning Town and Country Restaurant and Human Development meal sites. She was also involved with children and the Foster Grandparent Program at both the Mayville Middle School and Camp Fowler. Between these jobs, she was also employed with Michigan Sugar Company and Marlex Manufacturing for 13 years. Beside her obvious love for people, young and old, she enjoyed her home, flowers, birds and wildlife. For many years, she was involved in 4H and was Chair of the Women
