Peggy Ann Dufty

Peggy Ann Dufty, age 81, of Sand Point, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, with her family lovingly by her side. She was born on May 1, 1944, in Pigeon, the daughter of the late Victor and Dolores (Henne) Lukasiak.

In 1970, Peggy married Gerald R. “Dick” Dufty at the Caseville United Methodist Church. Their marriage of more than fifty-one years was filled with countless cherished memories. Much of their life together was spent on the family farm, where Peggy was always close by, running for parts, or simply making sure Dick had everything he needed. Dick preceded her in death on February 5, 2021.

For a short time, Peggy worked as a hairdresser and loved the conversations and friendships she built with her clients. She was the heart of her family, the best wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great‑grandmother anyone could hope for. After the passing of her own mother, Peggy naturally stepped into the role of family matriarch. Her compassion, strength, and genuine concern for everyone made her the glue that kept her loved ones connected.

Peggy especially treasured her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren and later her great‑grandson, were the lights of her life. She rarely missed a birthday party, sporting event, school function, or any activity important to them. She was always there, cheering loudly and proudly. One of her greatest joys was watching the sunsets over the lake from the picture window at her cottage, a simple, beautiful moment that brought her peace.

You always knew when Peggy entered the room. She had a vibrant presence that drew people in, paired with a smile and laugh that were unforgettable. Peggy led with her heart, always thinking of others before herself, and her warm, spunky, and joyful spirit made her the life of any gathering. Without ever trying, she made the world brighter for those around her.

Peggy leaves to cherish her memory her children, Rick (Danielle Damen) and Tami (Steven) Dufty‑Kreider; her son‑in‑law, Chad Bring; her grandchildren, Sawyer (Isabella) Langley, Boden Noworyta, Taggert Kreider, Falyn Kreider, Cash Damen, and Tessa Damen; and her great‑grandson, Conrad Langley. She is also survived by her sisters, Kay (Sid) Smith, Vicki Born, Deanna (Bill) McLellan, and Janice (Martin) Neumann, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kimberly Sue Bring‑Dufty, and her brother‑in‑law, Don Born.

Peggy’s family will welcome visitors on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Pigeon. A private service and interment will take place at the New Bay Port Cemetery.
