Peg Geissinger, age 83 years, of Caro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on January 24, 1925 in Altoona, Pennsylvania where she attended and graduated high school and was employed by Sylvania Electric during WWII. The former Peggy Smith married John Geissinger on August 8, 1946 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The Geissingers moved to Saginaw and then to Caro in 1955. Peg was talented in artistic endeavors and composing poetry. For a number of years, she contributed poetry to the Tuscola County Advertiser and had her own column. She attended the Caro United Methodist Church and very much enjoyed friends and family. Peg took up bowling and found it one of her pleasures. She is survived by her husband, John Geissinger; three sons, Thomas Geissinger of Lansing, Brian (Marcia) Geissinger of Grand Haven and Scott Geissinger of Crestline, California; four grandchildren, Lori (Ray) Houghteling of Pinckney, Stacy (John) Hall of Seattle, Washington, Mark and John Geissinger; and two great-grandsons, Nathan and Nolan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings. Cremation has taken place, and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation or service at the Collon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility.
