Penny Drappeaux

Penny Drappeaux of Bay Port, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Penny was born April 23, 1952 in Ferndale, the daughter of the late Emilio & Evelyn (Toman) Martinez. She graduated from Ferndale High School with the class of 1970 and held several jobs including many years spent in the dental field. She was proudest of her job as a homemaker, wife, mother, and especially grandmother. Penny was united in marriage with Robert H. Scott in 2002 in Napoleon and the couple has cherished over twenty-two years together. Penny’s life was simple, but full of love. She enjoyed bird watching, being outdoors, looking over the water, and fishing, even though she usually needed to be convinced to go. She was always very health conscious and worried constantly about her family’s well-being, including her dogs and cats.

Left to cherish Penny’s memory are her loving husband, Robert H. Scott of Bay Port; four children, Wendy Baldwin of Hazel Park, Stephanie Drappeaux of Novi, Matthew (Marie) Scott of Pigeon, David Scott of San Ramon, California; eleven grandchildren; one sister, Kaye (Don) Williams of Napoleon; and two nieces, Colleen and Janet Williams of Napoleon.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon with Elder Robert Dilly officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Bad Axe.
