Penny Lee Jones of Kingston, age 61, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 25, 2021. Penny was born July 19, 1960 in Alpena, the daughter of the late Herbert & Maureen (Clark) McKenzie. She grew up in Atlanta, Michigan and graduated six months early from high school there with the class of 1978. She moved to the Detroit area shortly after where she met her future husband, Daniel Jones. The couple was united in marriage on July 21, 1979 in Atlanta and have cherished over forty-two years together. Penny was employed with De-Sta-Co Industries in Birmingham as an expeditor, retiring in 2005. Looking for a quieter life and in preparation for retirement, Penny and Dan moved to Kingston in 2001. Penny adored her grandchildren and always looked forward to time spent with them. Many hours of reflection were spent on her deck, watching and feeding the wildlife. She also loved her dogs, Lady and Bear, sewing, watching the news, and eating out with friends. Left to cherish Penny's memory are her husband, Daniel Jones of Kingston; two daughters, Diane Dellanno (Charlene Kline) of Ferndale, Joy (Marc) Dise of Caro; two grandchildren, Dani and Carson; and brother, Kenneth (Norma) McKenzie of Atlanta. In keeping with Penny's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service is being planned for the spring and information will be announced as it becomes available. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Cass River Pet Friendz.
