Peter Prutchick

August 8, 1925 — July 14, 2009

Peter Prutchick, 83, of Pigeon, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Huron County Medical Care Facility.

He was born August 8, 1925 in Detroit to the late Jack and Eva (Houick) Prutchick. He served in both World War II and the Korean War, having served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1948, then he reenlisted in the Marine Corps, serving from 1948 to 1952. On August 14, 1953 he married Delorese Ann Muentener of Caseville in Hazel Park.

Peter lived and raised his family in the Detroit area. He drove truck for both Permanent Mold & Die and Modern Engineering before retiring from the latter. Having vacationed in the area for many years with his family, in 1985 he moved to his home on Nitz Street in Pigeon. He was a member of the Pigeon VFW #2236. Peter’s passion was airplanes and flying. He also enjoyed shooting pool with his friends.

Surviving are his wife Delorese; daughters Linda (Joseph) Schutt of Macomb, Jeanie (John) Tumminello of Warren and Elaine (Veton) Kelmendi of Grosse Pointe; grandchildren Brett (Jennifer), Kimberly, Vincent James, Lisa, Arjeta and Ardian; sister Helen Kish of Washington; and best friend Bob Ross of Elkton.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, July 17th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with staff chaplain Karen Bouverette officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Caseville Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Friday until the time of the service at 3:00 PM.
