Philip Frank Musselman

Philip Frank Musselman, 88, of Sebewaing, Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2016 at his home. Born July 27, 1928 in Bach to Arthur and Emma Musselman, he lived most of his life in Sebewaing and Bach, Michigan.

Philip was preceded in death by his father Arthur, mother Emma, sister Mildred Musselman, sister Charlotte (Musselman) Britt, and brother Robert Musselman. Also preceding him in death were his much-loved parents-in-law, Edward and Lula Kemp.

Philip was a man with remarkable mechanical abilities. He owned his own business for a time and worked in several factories as a journeyman millwright, retiring from Prestolite in Bay City. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering with CB radios, having the handle "Cactus Jack from Michigan." He enjoyed hunting and spending time at his cabin in northern Michigan.

Philip was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served proudly as a Sergeant in the 109th Artillery.

A member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Sebewaing, Philip believed in Jesus Christ as his savior. He was humble, quiet, and kind.

In 1953, Philip was united in marriage to Violet Ann Kemp. Theirs was a truly enduring love story. Violet will miss him dearly with loving memories of their 62 years together.

Philip was extremely proud of his three daughters, Brenda Fassett (Doug) of Grand Rapids, Angela Musselman of Grand Rapids, Sheila King (Stephen) of Kalamazoo, and Darlene Szumko He is also survived by grandchildren Ben (Steveie) King, Betsy (Chris) DuPont, Andrew (Laurel)King, Lynnea Fassett, Kathryn Fassett, Paul Fassett, and great-grandson Leo DuPont. Many brothers and sisters-in-law will miss "Muzzy" and dozens of nieces and nephews will miss "Uncle Phil."

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, 538 South Beck Street, Sebewaing. There will also be visitation on Thursday at 10:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing where the service will begin at 11:00 am.

Memorial donations may be made in Philip's name to Trinity UMC or to Bay Shore Camp of Sebewaing.
