Phyllis A. Kreh age 77 of Grant Twp. near Elkton died Wednesday morning, February 10, at McLaren Bay Region, Bay City.
She was born May 11, 1938 in Cass City to the late Carl and Lucille (Knechtel) Leckenby and graduate from Elkton High School in 1956. She then attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky for two years.
On June 21, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lyle Kreh. They lived near Wakefield Corners for a couple of years before settling on the family farm south of Elkton.
Phyllis worked at her mom’s restaurant at Wakefield Corner several years and part time as a secretary at Elkton School. She also had been a cook at the Lunch Bucket in Elkton for a while.
She was a lifelong member of the Elkton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, church choir and had served as church secretary for many years. Phyllis was also a member of the Aim High Farm Bureau Group and Club 59.
Phyllis was a mainly homemaker. She loved to cook, watch cooking shows and home decorating shows. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved music.
Surviving are her children, Jeffrey (Karen) Kreh of Kinde, Steve Kreh of Reese, Dean (Julie) Kreh of Grant Twp., Paul Kreh of Grant Twp., and Jennifer (Matt) Booms of Port Hope; grandchildren, Kevin (Ashley) Kreh, Kristopher (Erin) Kreh, Dr. Kayla (Mike) Sweeney, Stacey (Adam) Farmer, Kristen (Mike) Rifenbark, Kari Ann (Travis) Osantoski, Tiffany (Fiancé Kenneth Shepard) Kreh, Jordan and Brooklyn Kreh, Colin, Alexis and Brianna Booms; great grandchildren, Kristina, Nicole and Alexandra Kreh, Maci and Elle Rifenbark, Lyle and Noah Osantoski; her brother, Dr. John Leckenby of Texas; sisters-in-law, Lois Rapson of Tennessee and Mildred Kreh of Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Lyle and brothers-in-law, Gerald Kreh and Bob Rapson
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, February 15, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. Craig Pillow, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church after 10 AM Monday.
Memorials may be given to her church .
