Phyllis Tamblyn

Phyllis M. Tamblyn, age 79 life long resident of Elkton, died Monday, August 16, at Covenent Cooper, Saginaw following a massive stroke.
She was born May 8, 1931 in Detroit to the late Howard and Mame (McGinnis) Krohn and was a 1950 graduate of Elkton High School.
Phyllis and Earl "Barney" Tamblyn were married 49 years. He preceded her in death July 2, 1998.

She had been employed at several places in Elkton as a bookkeeper/secretary over the years including, Elkton IGA, Ginter Electric, Dunn's Restaurant, Haley Oil and Yaroch Petroleum, and served as a part time Village Clerk.
Phyllis was an active member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was the charter president of Club 59, Elkton and still very active, the Red Hat Society, charter member of Century Oaks Golf Club and on the Tuesday morning Women's League. Volunteer, was her middle name, she was on the Huron Medical Center Auxiliary, Civic Center Board, Elkton Area United Fund, Blood mobile, Lunch with Santa, Election Board and willing to help anyone.

Surviving are her dear friend, Bob Champagne; three children, Jim (Peg) Tamblyn of Richmond, Connie (Jim) Fontana of Warren and Tamara (Jim) Rummel of Dexter;a son-in-law Humphry Macdonald of Rockwood; eight grandchildren, Jodi, Kelly, Kevin, Michael, Elizabeth, Jessica, Christina and David and five great grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan, Benjamin, Jacob and Samuel.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Kay Macdonald in June of this year; her brother, Gary Krohn and her sister, Joyce Tschihart.

A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, August 20, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon. Fr. John Weis, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton Thursday from 2 to 9 PM and at the church after 10 AM Friday.
Memorials may be directed to the Elkton Civic Center or St. Francis Altar Society.
