Ralph "Sandy" Crosby

Ralph "Sandy" Crosby of Vassar, age 75, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Vassar Comfort Care, following a period of declining health. Sandy was born December 17, 1946 in Cass City, the son of the late Donald & Inez (Miller) Crosby. He grew up in Fairgrove on the family farm and graduated from high school there with the class of 1966. Following graduation, he continued to work on the farm and drove truck for several years before founding his own company, Crosby Trucking. Sandy was united in marriage with Barbara "Chris" Stoddard on November 2, 1968, and the couple celebrated forty-seven years together prior to her death in 2015. Sandy's love of farming never left him, and he continued to enjoy attending farm auctions, tending to his cattle, and tinkering with his classic Minneapolis Moline Tractors. He was a loyal fan of The Incredible Dr. Pol and was proud to have met him personally. Sandy also enjoyed Western movies, hunting, and attending the activities of his beloved grandchildren. His kind and gentle personality will be missed by many. Left to cherish Sandy's memory are two sons and their spouses, Todd & Deanna Crosby of Clio, Lee & Rebecca Crosby of Caro; six grandchildren, Jackolyn & Tyler McCoon, Kade, Rylee, Avery, Alaina, and Sawyer Crosby. In addition to his parents and wife, Sandy was preceded in death by a grandson, Reid; and sister, Sal. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Juniata Township Cemetery.
