Ralph Forman, 75 of Bay Port, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 while under hospice care at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Born in Bay Port on January 18, 1941, he was the son of Victor and Virginia (Hansen) Forman, and graduated in 1959 with his high school sweetheart, Judy, as the last graduating class at Elkton High School. On June 24, 1961 he was married to Judith Rose Miller. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2014.
Ralph worked 41½ years with Active Industries in Sebewaing, where he retired as production supervisor. He also owned Forman Excavating & Trucking Company for several decades. He was active with Fairhaven Township for nearly 40 years, as well as a volunteer with the Fairhaven Fire Department and 35 years as Fire Chief.
Ralph and Judy traveled to Wauchula, Florida in the winters and spent summers in Bay Port and Cheboygan. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Gagetown Sherwood on the Hill Golf League. He also enjoyed boating and fishing, and hunting with his family.
He is survived by his children, Terry (Ruth) Forman of Oxford, Dan Forman of Bay Port, and Shari (Brad) Cloutier of Bay Port; grandchildren: Lakin (Zach Click) Swiastyn, Cortland Swiastyn, Liberty Cloutier, Leigha Cloutier, Brynn (Jordan) Painter, Alissa Forman, Chantal Forman, Chalon Forman, and German Guerrero; great-grandchildren: Cadence, Graeson, Azaylia, Oliver, and Everly; brother-in-law Jerry (Debbie) Miller of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Judy, he was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Charlotte Dutcher.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service for Ralph and Judy will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at New Bay Port Cemetery.
