Randy Holmes

Randy L. Holmes, age 48, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw, following a lingering illness. Randy was born September 25, 1964 in Caro, the son of John J. & Lucy L. (Roose) Holmes, and was a lifelong area resident. In 1983, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany until 1987. Randy was united in marriage with the former Monna L. Miller on September 30, 1989 in Akron, and passed away one day before he was to celebrate twenty-three years with his beloved wife. He was employed as a machinist for Marine Industries and was a member of the Juniata Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and painting landscapes. Randy is survived by his wife, Monna L. Holmes of Caro; four children, Steven, Travis, Tylor and Megan Holmes, all living at home; his mother, Lucy Holmes of Caro; two brothers and their wives, John & Diane Holmes of Caro, James & Colleen Holmes of Mayville; one sister and her husband, Doris & Rick Law of Vassar; sister-in-law, Susan Holmes of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his father, John J. Holmes; and one brother, Richard Holmes. In keeping with Randys wishes a cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Randys life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Caro VFW Post 4164 with James W. Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends at the hall from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Family Discretionary Fund.
