Randy O. Story, age 59, died unexpectedly on June28, 2016. Randy opened his eyes for the first time in Sebewaing, MI when he was born to Jess and Clara (Pluta) Story on September 11, 1956.
Randy was a wide-eyed, easy going child, who, along with his siblings, loved the many trips north to the family cabin on North Lake in Gennie, MI. He tagged along with his older brothers to learn to hunt and fish with his dad. When Randy was 14, he got his first job delivering newspapers. He saved enough money to buy his first mini-bike to make his job quicker and easier. Randy then went on to work at Krauss' Dairy farm while attending Unionville Sebewaing High School. After graduating in 1975, he followed his brothers to work at Sebewaing Industries. He was a metal finisher and took great pride in the work he did. He was a hard worker and never passed up overtime. He remained employed there until the company closed. He finished out his working career at Michigan Sugar in Sebewaing. Due to medical issues, Randy was forced to retire from working much earlier than he would have like.
Randy met and married Victoria Kling in October, 1977. They have one son, Tyler.
A couple of Randy's favorite things were U of M football and NASCAR. He was most proud of his son, Tyler Story, who became an Attorney and graduated from Penn State. In his younger years, he enjoyed duck hunting, snowmobiling, and bow hunting.
Randy closed his eyes for the last time in the same town he was born in – Sebewaing. Besides his wife, and son Tyler of Chicago, Randy is survived by his mother, Clara Story of Sebewaing, siblings, Robert (Sue) Klimkowski of Unionville, James of West Branch, Terry (Vicky) of Owendale, Linda (John) Shope of Pigeon, and Luanne Story (Chuck Sylla) of Attica, MI. He also leaves behind two sister-in-laws, Bonnie Fritz and Sandy (Jim) Warju. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Greeting Randy in Heaven, will be his father, Jess, siblings, Tommy Story and infant sister, Diane Story. A sister-in-law, Peggy Krohn and in-laws, Sam and Anna Kling.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be planned for a later date.
