Ray C. Heckroth

October 28, 1916 — February 11, 2003

Ray C. Heckroth, age 86, Gotts Corner area farmer, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 11, at Huron Medical Center, Bad Axe.
He was born to the late Charles and Minnie (Bleam) Heckroth on October 28, 1916 at home on the family farm in Chandler Twp. where he was also raised. He continued to farm there until his retirement in 1995.
On October 7, 1944, he was united in marriage to Ruth M. Diebel at Elkton Evangelical United Brothern Church.
He is survived and dearly missed by his wife, Ruth and three children; Carol (James) Carter of Portage, Alan Heckroth of Caseville and Roger (Michelle) Hechroth of Georgetown, TX; six grandchildren, James and Jeffery Carter, Christopher, Nicole, Skye and Roger Heckroth and two sisters, Fern Faupel of Kalamazoo and Lela (Calvin) Reibling of Elkton.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 15, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. Peter Crawford, pastor will officiate with internment to follow at the Colfax Twp. Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 – 9 P.M. Friday and at the church after 10:00 A.M. Saturday.
Memorials may be given to the Elkton United Methodist Church.
