Raymond Heck

Raymond Heck age 81 of Pigeon died Saturday afternoon, May 12, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon.

He was born December 5, 1930, in Pigeon to the late Charles and Hulda (Barr) Heck.
Ray grew up in the Pigeon area and graduated from Pigeon High School in 1949.

On September 9, 1950, he was united in marriage to Maude W. Heasty at the Caseville Methodist Church. They lived and raised their family on a farm south east of Pigeon raising both crops and poultry. Ray also was a trucker, he was employed at Alton Manufacturing, Pigeon for fifteen years and then John Elenbaum retiring in 2000.
He was a long time member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Berne and enjoyed fishing, hunting reading and being with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Maude; his son-in-law, John Bruce of Pigeon; four grandchildren, Julie (Marc) Borlaug of Flint, Jodie (Jason) Baldwin of St. Charles, Brock (Sue) Heck of Bad Axe and Jill (Larry) Weber of Beaverton; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Hunter, Ellie, Kurtis and Hannah; sister-in-law, Lila Heck of Pigeon and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his three children, Jenny Bruce, Mark Heck and Eric Heck; two brothers, Alvin Heck and Morris Heck and two sisters, Viola Schuette and Helen Krueger.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Berne. Rev. James Gorsengner, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Monday and at the church after 10:00 AM Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to MLS Scholarship Fund or St. John’s Lutheran Church
