Raymond Hudson

Raymond Hudson of Caro, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. Ray was born May 11, 1935 in Caro, the son of the late Russell and Maude (Warren) Hudson, and was a 1953 graduate of Caro High School, He went on to attend junior college for two years, and four years at the University of Michigan. Ray was the first one in his family to attend college, and had worked at the Canning Factory to help pay for college. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1961. Ray was united in marriage with the former Carmen Tomlinson on January 15, 1966. They were married thirty-three years. He had a brief marriage with the former Patricia Potvin. From 1961 until 1998, he was employed with Dow Chemical Laboratory in Research and Product Development. Ray attended the Caro First Baptist Church, was a member of the Caro American Legion Post #7, coached Little League, enjoyed taking his niece and nephew, Barb and Patrick, to U of M football games, and had played adult softball. He also enjoyed golf, traveling to all forty-eight continental states, fishing, anything U of M, and loved Barb's dog, Mo. He is survived by one niece, Barb Jenshak of Caro; one nephew, Patrick Woidan and his wife, Rebecca, of Caro; two great-nieces and one great-nephew, Alison Eber of Atlanta, Georgia, Tyler Woidan of Overland Park, Kansas, Caitlin Leach of Flint. In keeping with Ray's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Caro First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Wigand officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
