Raymond Wayne "Ray" Nelson

Raymond Wayne "Ray" Nelson of Akron, age 72, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky. He was born April 29, 1946 in Caro, the son of the late Leslie and Cecelia (McRae) Nelson. Ray was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed fishing and the out-of-doors. He is survived by one son, RaDar Nelson of Kent, Washington; one sister, three brothers and their spouses, Betty Kiehl of Caro, Ted & Karen Nelson of Bay City, Dale & Diana Nelson of Akron, Dennis & Nancy Nelson of Kingston; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by three children, Doris, Wayne and Neal Nelson; one sister, Rosalyn Thompson; and brother-in-law, Jack Kiehl. In keeping with Ray's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service with military honors afforded by the Caro American Legion Post 7 and the U.S. Navy will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove at a later date.
