Raymond E. "Ray" Or "Ticker" Rowe

Raymond Edgar "Ray" or "Ticker" Rowe, 76 of Pigeon/Mud Creek, passed away Wednesday March 28, 2012 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Born in Flint on June 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Elvin LeRoy and Myrtle Gladys (Treehouse) Rowe. He graduated from Bay Port High School, and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On October 12, 1968 he was united in marriage to Barbara L. Tardiff in Royal Oak. She survives him.
Upon his return from the Korean War, Ray worked on the construction of the Mackinac Bridge and with heating and cooling maintenance installations throughout the nation from 1959-1991. He returned to the Mud Creek area in 1996, and owned and operated the Mud Creek Store from 2002-2008.
Ray was a master sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, especially duck hunting. He also enjoyed making fishing lures. He especially enjoyed spending time with and loving his family and grandchildren. Ray was a Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings fan, and was a great story teller.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Ray is survived by five children: Tammy Lang of Pigeon, Anthony Rowe of White Lake, Todd Rowe, Tracey (John Ford) Rowe, and Terry (Rose) Rowe, all of Oak Park; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Don, Bob, and Jack.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Rev. Sheila Schenk officiating. Cremation will follow and interment will take place at New Bay Port Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Monday, April 2 1:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 3 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 11 a.m.
