Raymond H. Spaulding

Raymond H. Spaulding of Cass City, age 88, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Northwood Meadows Memory Care Facility following a lingering illness. Ray was born October 14, 1935 to the late Dora and Cleo Spaulding. He married Shirley Little on May 23, 1958. She predeceased him.

Ray was a building contractor, building homes and businesses in Cass City and the surrounding area for 55 years, retiring in 2014; although he claimed he never quit working!

Ray had a passion for St. Bernard dogs but found his greatest joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Raymond is survived by his son, Ron (Jan) Spaulding; son-in-law, Dale Will; grandchildren, his "Sweet Pea" Kristina (Dirk) Hartman, Corey (Carrie) Will, and Kyle Will; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, and Nathan Hartman; Jade and Brody Will; and one sister and special friend, Liz Evans. In addition to his wife and parents, Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Will.

Ray's family would like to thank the staff of Northwood Meadows Memory Care and United Hospice Service for the kindness and care they showed to Ray and the Spaulding family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Rev. Michele Hile will officiate with burial following at Ellington Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Ron Spaulding, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723. The contributions will be utilized in Ray's name to those who provided him with such excellent care.
