Rev. Raymond Paul Sting, age 79, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Northwood Meadows in Cass City. He was born in Sebewaing on December 18, 1936. He married Carol Ann McKenney on June 1, 1963, in West Branch.
He is survived by three children: Joann Sting of Charleston, South Carolina, Annette (Dave) Russell of Caro, and Tod (Leisha) Sting of Sebewaing; one granddaughter, Crystal Sting; brother, Kenneth (Ann) Sting of Seattle, Washington; sister, Janet (Jim) Genow of Grand Rapids; sister-in-law, Renee Sting of Saginaw; many nieces and nephews; and one great grandson on the way.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his parents, Harold and Erna Sting; and brother, Ron Sting.
Raymond farmed for many years in the Sebewaing area. He also worked many years as a Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance Agent. His greatest accomplishment was becoming an ordained Lutheran Minister and was an Assistant Minister at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 11am-2pm.
A private burial service will take place at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery (Bach).
Memorial donations may be given to the family discretionary fund (c/o Tod Sting) or Northwood Meadows in Cass City.
