Rebecca Filkins

Rebecca Lynn Filkins, age 51, passed away peacefully Monday, August 27, 2007 at Brians House in Davison following a long battle with cancer. She was born September 10, 1955 in Sikeston, Missouri, the daughter of James Virginia (Hedges) Maxey. After finishing high school, Rebecca earned a B.A. degree in computer science. She came to Caro in 1990 and had been employed with Midwest Water Treatment for several years. She was an active member of the Caro Church of the Nazarene. In her free time, Rebecca enjoyed reading, crafts and being involved in church activities. Rebecca is survived by five children, Barry Campbell living in Missouri, Charles Campbell of Marlette, Melissa Filkins, Theresa (Jason) Herman, and Michael Filkins all of Burton; the father of three of her children, Dale Filkins of Burton; seventeen-grandchildren, her mother, Virginia Galemore of East Prairie, MO; three sisters, one brother and their spouses, Anita (Lee) Tally East Prairie, MO, Robert (Helen) Maxey living in Illinois, Linda (Bob) Wheatley of East Prairie, MO, Beverly Galemore of Kevil, KY and many nieces and nephews. Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, James Maxey and by her step-father that raised her, Warren Galemore.
