Rex L. Cox age 80 of Cass City, died Friday morning, February 10, at Phoenix Mountain Nursing Center, Phoenix, AX.
He was born September 8, 1925 in Traverse City to the late Murray and Lillie (Hunt) Cox.
On April 14, 1945, he was united in marriage to Lucille M. Miller at the Salem Methodist Church in Pigeon. They moved to the Dearborn area shortly after they married where they raised their family. He 1990, they moved back to the area settling in Cass City.
During the mid fifties Rex open Rex’s Shell Service on Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. In 1968, he began his career at Ford Motor Company retiring in 1988 for health reasons.
Rex enjoyed traveling through out the US, spending the last 15 winters in Arizona. While at home he attended the Cass City United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille; his children and their spouses, Deanna and Norman Aronson of Whitmore Lake, Dale and Lynn Cox of Hamburg and Marsha and Tim Healy of Clarkston; six grandchildren, Kristin, Stacy, Douglas, Jeffrey, Tracey, and Timothy; two great grandchildren, Jake and Maya; two sisters, Lila (Donald) Stover of Comstock Park and Ethel (Bill) Kunze of Traverse City and his sister-in-law, Elayne Cox of Traverse City. Preceding him in death was a brother, Harold Cox.
There will be no visitation at this time, a memorial service will be scheduled in the spring. Burial will be in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon.
