Rhoda Christine Bolzman, age 73, of Sebewaing, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.
Rhoda was born in Kilmanagh, Michigan on March 25, 1947, to Claude J. and Clara E. (Roemer) Hornbacher. She was baptized into Christ on April 29, 1947 and confirmed into His faith on March 26, 1961. After graduating high school she married Wayne Bolzman on February 19, 1966, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2003.
Rhoda was very active in her church, serving on numerous boards, working on bulletins, banner, newsletters, counting money and teaching Sunday school for over 50 years. She retired in 2017 as a U.S. Mail Carrier. Rhoda enjoyed sewing masks, gardening, baking, crafting, working puzzles and being with her grandchildren. Anyone who knew Rhoda knew she was very active and will be greatly missed.
Rhoda is survived by her 5 children: Chris (Anna) Bolzman of Sebewaing, Matt (Gina) Bolzman of Pigeon, Michael (Michelle) Bolzman of Sebewaing, Angie (Mike) Mandich of Midland and Joel (Amanda) Bolzman of Sebewaing; grandchildren: Kelsey, Luke, Lyndsey, Brandon, Brianna, Lauren, Michael, Madison, Layla, Grady and Chance; great granddaughter, Rylee; siblings: Royce (Sheila) Hornbacher, Dave Hornbacher, Rudy (Tona) Hornbacher, Ruby (Paul) Martinez and Jan Hornbacher; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dalton (Bud) and Louise Coe; and many nieces and nephews.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Bruce Hornbacher and grandchildren, Logan and Aaron.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a visitation will be allowed on Monday, May 25, 2020 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm. Masks must be worn and only 10 visitors at a time in the building.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private service is planned for Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or Christ the King Lutheran School.
