Rhoda Lee Tuckey of Deckerville, age 70, passed away on March 17, 2025 at her home. She was born March 21, 1954 in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of the late Paul F. Greenleaf and Eileen Opal Vollmar. Rhoda studied Business Administration and Management at Baker College. She was a former photographer and loved photographing nature. Rhoda was a quiet, private person who lived her life with simplicity and grace. Though she preferred solitude, those who knew her appreciated her gentle nature, steady presence, and kind heart. She had a strong sense of independence and lived life on her own terms, content without fanfare.
In her own words: “For Whoever Needs This: The heaviness you feel won't last forever. Your heart will heal, the weight on your chest will lift, and the pain that feels endlessly right now will slowly fade. The nights that feel too long, the mornings that feel impossible - they won't always be this way. One day soon, you’ll wake up and realize the worst is behind you. The tears will stop, the wounds will become wisdom, and what once hurt will no longer hold power over you. Breath. Rest easy tonight. The storm is passing, and better days are already on their way. Amen.”
Rhoda is survived by her two brothers, Paul Greenleaf and Chad Greenleaf; aunts & uncles, Virginia & Bob Becker, Mary & Norm West, and Royal & June Vollmar; many cousins; dear friends, Janice Osgerby Haley, Dee Perry Mitchell, Marie Theaker, Shirley Rhodes Tuckey, Cindy Ruby Hawley, Tom Gretz, and Deb Stoddard Hennessey.
In keeping with Rhoda's wishes, cremation has taken place.
