Richard Alan Campbell of Caro, age 76, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home. Richard was born January 17, 1944 in Flint, the son of the late Richard N. and Pauline (Burton) Campbell and was a 1962 graduate of Caro High School. Following graduation, he honorably served his country for four years with the U.S. Air Force stationed in France. He was united in marriage with the former Patricia Kaye McMullen on June 17, 1967 in Caro. The couple celebrated forty-nine years of marriage prior to Kaye's death on October 4, 2016. His work on the C130 aircraft as a hydraulic repairman lead to his interest in machine repair at Saginaw Steering Gear, where he retired after more than thirty years of employment. Richard was a founding member of Living Waters Chapel in Caro where he served as an elder and worship leader. He loved antiques and spent spare time working on Don Smale's antique fire truck. Richard was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Richard is survived by three children, Burton & Linda Campbell of O'Fallon, Missouri, Thomas and Stephen Campbell of Bay City, Angela Campbell of Caro; grandchildren, Justin O'Kelly of Bay City, Clark & Brianna Campbell of Old Washington, Ohio, Kayla Campbell of La Mirada, California, Jared Salvador of Caro, Connor Campbell of O'Fallon, Missouri. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Botham, Lloyd Botham and his wife, Delores. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Living Waters Chapel with Pastor James Solomon officiating. Burial will follow at Ellington Township Cemetery with military honors afforded by the Caro American Legion Post #7 and the U.S. Air Force. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Living Waters Chapel.
