Richard "Dick" Champagne

Richard “Dick” Champagne age 66 of Lake Twp. passed away Sunday, April 2, at Covenant Cooper, Saginaw.

He was born October 19, 1950, in Bad Axe to the late Ervin and Virginia (Redmond) Champagne.

On June 18, 1977, Dick and Margaret Hartman were united in marriage at St Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon and made their home in Lake Twp.

He was a long time member of St. Felix Catholic Church and was currently attending at Sacred Heart, Bad Axe. He was also very active in his riding group, GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Assn.) .

Dick enjoyed camping, riding his Gold Wing, fishing with his granddaughter, Kacey and being with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Maggie; daughter, Kristine (Chad) Diebel of Pigeon; son, John Champagne of Harbor Beach; grandchildren, Kacey, Kaylee, Ashlyn and Sophia and sisters, Mary (Tom) Nelson of Cheboygan, Connie (Ron) Kuch of Caseville, Beverly (Dean) Osentoski of Livonia, Cathy Champagne of East Lansing and Susan (Mike) O’Brien of Washington state.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Joseph, Edward and Ervin.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, April 6, at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. Fr. Rob Howe, pastor of St Hubert Parish will officiate with interment in St Felix Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM and at St. Felix after 10 AM Thursday.
