Richard R. Dievendorf, Jr. of Caro, age 61, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti. Dick was born March 1, 1954 in St. Clair Shores, the son of the late Richard R. & Mary Edith (Dishman) Dievendorf, Sr., and graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1972. He later graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1989 and returned to Caro as a Special Needs Teacher at Schall Elementary School for the next twenty-five years. Dick was an extremely gifted teacher who was admired greatly by his many students over the years. He was united in marriage with the former Marcia McClain on October 14, 1978 in Lexington, Ohio. During his free time, Dick enjoyed writing, composing and playing music. Richard is survived by his wife, Marcia M. Dievendorf of Caro; two sons, Matthew M. Dievendorf (Amy Bormet) of Los Angeles, California and Joshua Dievendorf (Erika Krause) of Caro; two grandchildren, Theodore and Vivian Dievendorf of Caro; two sisters and their spouses, Rebecca & John Bowman of Tempe, Arizona, Mary Catherine & Glen Fillion of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Schall Elementary School gymnasium in Caro with Rev. Steve Fillion officiating.
