Richard Phanon Dixon

Richard P. Dixon, 80, of Caseville, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at his home.

Richard was born September 30, 1943 in Detroit to the late Phanon and Flora (Vinz) Dixon.  In 1961 he graduated from Cass Tech High School in Detroit and then received his Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University in Electrical Engineering.  He then enlisted in the US Navy, serving 6 years as a flight officer aboard the USS Saratoga in the Mediterranean, he was honorably discharged at the rank of Lieutenant.

He worked in computer sales for 20 years with Hewlett Packard and Techtronic, before opening his own flooring supply business in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  His family had a cottage in Caseville since the 1950's, and he spent summers there and winters in North Carolina on his boat.  He was a member of the Caseville Eagles Club.  Richard was a loving uncle to his nieces and their children.

Richard is survived by his brother David (Cory) of Manhattan Beach, California; and nieces Lynn, Shelley and Amber.

There will be a private interment.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
