Richard Charles Farris, age 64, of Caro passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 7, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on November 5, 1961 in Saginaw, to Shirley (Colling) Farris and the late Richard Farris. Rick was a proud alumnus of Caro High School, graduating with the Class of 1980.
On July 9, 1983, Rick was united in marriage with Angelita Arebalo at the Caro United Methodist Church, beginning a shared life that flourished for more than four decades. Together, they owned and operated several businesses, most notably the Strand Theatre, where they brought joy, entertainment, and a sense of community to countless families over the years.
Rick was also a proud member of the Caro United Methodist Church, Caro Downtown Development Authority, and the Lions Club. Through these organizations, he worked tirelessly to strengthen and enrich his community, leaving a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.
In his leisure time, Rick loved cheering on the Detroit Lions and the Red Wings. When his favorite teams weren’t playing, he could be found enjoying a good movie. His passion for cinema was well known, and he rarely missed the latest blockbuster.
Rick will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, community, and the people he served. His legacy continues in the many lives he touched.
Rick leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Angie; his mother, Shirley Farris; siblings, Linda (Henry) Bean, and Robert (Alice) Farris; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Frances Leal, Greg (Marta) Arebelo, Nieva (Martin) Torres, Cruz Arebalo, Rosie Arebalo, Maria (Arturo) Arebalo-Factor, and Joey (Tammy) Arebalo; Rick’s caregiver from the beginning of his illness, Brandyn Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Rick was preceded in death by an infant sister, Karen Farris; his father- and mother-in-law, Gregorio and Ernesta Arebalo; brother-in-law, Adan Arebalo; and sister-in-law, Eva Lopez.
