Richard “Dick” Fritz, 88, of Elkton, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe.

Dick was born April 4, 1932 in Owendale to the late Charles and Louise (Steinman) Fritz. He graduated from Owendale High School in 1950. He married Anna Harder on December 6, 1952 at the Bad Axe Presbyterian Church; she preceded him in death on March 29, 2004.

Dick was a lifelong farmer and worked at Liberty Tool in Bad Axe. He was an active member of Elkton United Methodist Church and Aim High Farm Bureau. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Dick is survived by his sons Dick of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Dave (Deb) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Trudi and Michael Lang of Port Austin; grandchildren Michael (Tia), Steven, Ryan (Katie), and Kelly (Troy) Bergmann; 7 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were seven brothers, Norman, Leonard, Matt, Otis, Wallace, Willard and Calvin and three sisters, Aldine Ewald, Verneta Schuster and Luella Ewald.

A private funeral service will be at Elkton United Methodist Church with Rev. Won Kim officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-6 Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elkton United Methodist Church, Bay Shore Camp or the charity of the donor’s choice.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe for their professional and compassionate care provided Dick during his stay there.
