Richard Walter Gaeth

Richard W. Gaeth , age 85, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully in his sleep and was welcomed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Vadavilla AFC Home in Unionville.

Richard was born October 4, 1937 to the late Edgar and Mathilda (Fritz) Gaeth. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1955. Richard served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 in Germany, and continued to serve in the Army Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1964. He worked at Sebewaing Industries, retiring on January 1, 1999 after 34 years. Richard loved to watch "Let's Make a Deal", "The Price is Right", "F-Troop" and auto racing (2-3 minutes at a time). He liked to listen to "Paul Harvey" and "Talk Radio", too. When he wasn't watching TV or listening to the radio, he would play solitaire under the watchful eye of his beloved feathered companion, Cheyenne. He was quick with jokes. He enjoyed spending time with his niece, shopping trips to Bad Axe and celebrating birthdays and holidays, even when he said he didn't want to. He also looked forward to time spent with close friends Kassee and Bob, Morgan, Mariah and Madison. Richard enjoyed the cards from Don and Lisa and Peggy, too. Thank you to his neighbors, friends, Vicky and Denise at Seasons Change, Shelly and all the compassionate caring staff at Vadavilla. Chris and Stacy for all you do. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, it has meant so much. The past few months were hard, but he always kept his faith in God.

Richard is survived by his niece, Lisa (Jacob) Legue, great nephews, Michael and Benjamin Gaeth, and feathered companion "Cheyenne".

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Shirley, brother, Edward and nephew, Lyle Gaeth.
