Richard Jae Kennison

Richard Jae Kennison of Watrousville, age 70, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Rick was born June 6, 1952, the son of the late James F. & Arleen (Brahm) Kennison. After graduation, Rick went on to work as an electrical millwright for Caro Plastic, Dulars, Tier Con, and Orchid Unique, in addition to working as an over the road driver for Suttle Trucking transporting for USPS on the weekends. He enjoyed traveling to Florida, Lewiston, and annual trips to Mackinaw for the Labor Day Bridge Walk, or to watch the ice flow with his daughter, Stephanie. A man who was not in favor of modern electronics, Rick relished time spent in the solitude of the woods, appreciating his privacy. Rick was president and a member of the Thumb Area Mud Runners in the early to mid-1980's and a true Jeep man through and through. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Stephanie (Clark Haley) Kennison and Shannon Barnard; three grandchildren, Skye (Deven) Hodder, Aiden, and Sawyer; one great-grandson, Wesley Jae; a brother, James S. (Jean) Kennison; and a niece, Christa (Tim) Scheneman, and their families. In keeping with Rick's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Calvary Chapel in Vassar, 7501 Frankenmuth Road, Vassar MI 48768. Rick's family will be present to receive friends at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Per Rick's wishes, please wear your best boots and jeans to his memorial.
