Richard Alan Lester

Richard Alan Lester of Vassar, age 64, went home to heaven on January 17, 2022 at his home. Rich was born September 20, 1957 in Almont, the son of the late Theodore and Mary (Kristin) Lester. He graduated from Cass City High School in 1976 and went on to obtain his associate degree in Applied Science from Mott Community College in 1994. Rich worked at Durakon Industries in Lapeer for over twenty years as an operator, in maintenance, tool crib, as a forklift mechanic, and in shipping & receiving. He then worked at Great Lakes Powerlift from 2010 until 2012, a year at Alta in 2013, and retired in 2019 from the Tuscola Mosquito Abatement. Rich enjoyed drawing, woodworking, building model kits, RC Cars, and video games. He absolutely loved anything mechanical or vehicles with a loud engine. You could always find Rich at the local car show, tractor pull, or going to see the monster trucks. He liked to fish and be outside, enjoying nature. Above all, Rich loved time spent with his sons and grandchildren. Rich leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Joshua (Valorie) Lester of Caro and Benjamin Lester of Caro; grandchildren. Kierstin and Jay Lester of Caro; siblings, Barb Smith of Bay City and Dave (Margerie) Lester of Grand Blanc; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Rich was welcomed home to heaven by his siblings, Virginia Lester, Edward Lester, Cheryl Lester, and Joyce Parks. In keeping with Rich's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro.
