Richard “Rich” Harlan Love, age 84, of Pigeon, died peacefully Saturday June 6 at Covenant Hospital of Saginaw.
He was born January 1, 1931, in Kankakee, IL, the son of the late Arthur E. and Ollie L. (Otis) Love. He was united in marriage to Joyce A. (Nelson) Love on June 2, 1956, at Central Christian Church of Kankakee. He moved to Huron County in 2010 shortly after his wife died, so he could be nearer family.
Rich loved God and enjoyed attending church. He was a part of the Central Christian Choir and played the mandolin. He loved music and reading and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoying camping, hunting, and fishing; acting as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. He could be found doing the weekly crossword puzzles almost every day along with watching game shows and music programs. He was raised on a farm and worked as a delivery driver for a professional laundry service. He was later employed by NAPA auto parts.
He is survived by sons: Richard “Rick” (Brenda) Love of Elkton, Mark (Judy) Love of Brunswick, OH; daughter-in-law, Veronica Love, of Momence, IL; nine grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three siblings, eldest son, Edward, and grandson, Jonathan.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 10, at the Pigeon River Mennonite Church. Friends may call at the church from 2 to 7 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund or Pigeon River Mennonite Church.
