Richard Rutkowski of Watrousville, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Rich was born June 23, 1938 in Ubly, the son of the late Stanley and Frances (Osentoski) Rutkowski. He was united in marriage with the former Patricia Messing on April 30, 1960 at St. Anthony's Church in Helena. Rich worked for General Motors, Grey Iron and Nodular foundries, but was a farmer at heart as he continued to farm for many years. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and was a member of the Richville Conservation Club. Rich could spend hours thinking on how to fix something, and then went ahead and fixed it. He built the home they lived in and the barns. Rich is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Patricia Rutkowski; five children and their spouses, David & Ann Rutkowski of Caro, Don & LouAnne Rutkowski of Bay City, Dale Rutkowski of Vassar, Deanna & Harold Ingram of Caro, Darren & Tracy Rutkowski of Almont; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his siblings and their spouses, Shirley Piontkowski of Ubly, Marlene Bukowski of Metamora, Reta & Larry Wehner of Harbor Beach, Ilene & Tim Topolinski of Caledonia, Betty & Gerald Eckenswiller of Troy, Kay & Bill VanErp Canton, Darlene Rutkowski of The Villages, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Lamke and Virginia Rutkowski; one brother, Marion Rutkowski; and daughter-in-law, Patty Rutkowski. In keeping with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A family graveside service with Rev. Michele Hile officiating will be held at Juniata Township Cemetery.
