Richard Val Schwert Sr.

Richard Val Schwert Sr, age 72, of Caseville, died Wednesday October 11, 2006 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon of lung cancer.

Dick was born July 2, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Val and Ida (Vance) Schwert. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Christina MacLeod of Detroit in 1961.

He drove a truck for Ford, retiring in 1993. He has had a home in Caseville since 1979 and lived there permanently after retiring. He attended St. Roch Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with family and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife Christina; son Richard Jr. and his wife Colleen of Taylor and daughter Maggie of Dearborn Heights; grandchidren Jeremiah, William, Rusty and Miranda.

A memorial mass will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville.

Friends may gather at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
