Richard L. Seward

Richard L. Seward, age 73, of Bay Port, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Richard was born on November 22, 1947, in Detroit, to Richard and Mary (Hall) Seward. He graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn, Class of 1966. He married Connie Seibel on May 17, 1986 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bach. Richard worked for BASF and retired in 1995. He had a pilot's license and enjoyed flying in a flying club in Sebewaing through the Sebewaing Airport. He shot pool for many years at the Bay Port Inn. Richard also enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting, fishing, boating and snowmobiling.

Richard is survived by his wife, Connie; son, James (fiancé Margaret Fischer) of Caseville; grandchildren: Damian Salcido, Jessica (James) Hinshaw, Kara (Edward) Herron and MacKenzie (Michael) Hawthorn; 4 great grandchildren; 4 brothers-in-law: Larry Ronzi, David Seibel, Richard Seibel and Michael Seibel; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary; sister, Elizabeth Ronzi, and half-sister Delores (Jim) Breslin; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Harold and Elaine Seibel; and brother-in-law, Ronald Seibel.

Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2021 from 12pm-8pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Due to covid-19 restrictions only 25 people allowed at a time in the building and masks must be worn.

The funeral/committal prayers will be Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the funeral home. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Due to covid-19 restrictions only 25 allowed at a time during visitation and 25 people max for the service.

Burial will be private at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Bach.
