Richard Lee Simmons

Richard Lee Simmons, 77, of Kinde died Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023 peacefully at his home.

Richard was born June 10, 1946 in Bad Axe to the late Les and Hazel Simmons.

Richard was a proud US Army veteran, a loyal father, loving Papa and a good friend to many. He carried on in his father’s footsteps owning and operating the family business “Simmons & Sons Service” in Pigeon. He worked hard until he couldn’t work anymore. He enjoyed driving the tow truck and never truly retired, even if it meant holding down the fort in his shop chair.

Surviving are his sons Dereck (Jamie) Simmons, Chandell (Dorothy) Simmons, Jim (Cindy) Simmons, Chris (Loretta) Simmons, and Rocky Simmons; brother Les (Bev) Simmons and many grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were sisters Rose Stiebe, Donna Cross and brothers Raymond, Robert and Henry.

A celebration of life will be 2:00pm-6:00pm Sunday, September 24th at the Pigeon Event Center.
