Richard Dale Tetil, age 69, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, January 6, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer. Dick was born April 6, 1941 in Caro, the son of the late William & Bertha (Dalby) Tetil, and was a lifelong area resident. Following graduation from high school, he began a thirty-seven year career at General Motors in Saginaw, now the Delphi Plant, retiring in 1996. On September 1, 1962, Dick was united in marriage with the love of his life, Barbara Ann Mika at St. Pancratius Church in Cass City. Dick was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and the Knights of Columbus Council #3224 in Caro. He was happiest with a golf club or bowling ball in his hand, and loved working in the woods or tinkering in his pole barn. He was also an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. Dick is survived by his wife of over forty-eight years, Barbara Ann Tetil; four sons and their spouses, Thomas Richard & Lynn Tetil of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, James Tetil & Cathy Mumby of Caro, Bryan & Dawn Tetil of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Scott Tetil of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, five sisters and their spouses, Max & Margaret Tetil of Unionville, Alice & Ed Ramlow of Oregon, Dora Wiley of Rochester, Nina Jenson of Midland, Lennard & Helen Tetil of Pennsylvania, Elna & Robert Kamrad of Caro, Betty Tetil of Midland; one brother-in-law and his wife, Carl & Mickey Holmes of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Larry Tetil, Walter Tetil and Laura Holmes.
