Rick James Ford

Rick James Ford of Caro, age 65, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Covenant Health Care Center – Cooper in Saginaw. Rick was born June 26, 1959 in Cass City, the son of James and Joyce (Hill) Ford. He graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School with the class of 1977. Rick owned RJF Transport for many years and was most recently employed at Timberline Forestry. On October 12, 1995, Rick married the love of his life, the former Patricia Young. He was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge and Whitetails Unlimited. Rick loved to go hunting, ride in his side-by-side, shoot guns, and ride his motorcycle. He was always willing to help and enjoyed working on cars. Rick’s legacy of wisdom and hard work will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rick leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia; children, Ryan Ford and Candace Hatton; his “lil’ man” and only grandson, Barret Hatton; parents, James & Joyce Ford; siblings, Cheryl Ford and Robinson (Jodi) Ford; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Paul McNett officiating. Rick’s family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Patricia Ford, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, Michigan 48723.
