Rita Fessler of Caro, age 65, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, while visiting her niece in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born in Caro on October 26, 1960, the daughter of the late Marcello and Josephine (Gutierrez) Gonzales. Rita graduated from Caro High School with the Class of 1978.
On December 30, 1993, Rita was united in marriage to Stanley R. Fessler, III in Naples, Florida and spent the past thirty-three years being by one another’s side.
She proudly owned and operated the Fiesta Fessler Food Truck, where she found great joy in serving her community while honoring her father’s memory. Rita and her father, Marcello, shared a special bond, and during her younger years, she worked alongside him operating his food truck. Her passion for serving others carried into adulthood, when she opened her own food truck as a heartfelt tribute to her father and the legacy he left behind. Rita was also employed at Huron Castings in Pigeon, where she worked as a grinder for over five years.
Her life was defined by hard work, unwavering determination, and a willingness to lend a helping hand. Rita took pride in everything she did, especially when it meant bringing happiness to those around her. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, generous heart, and the love she shared with her family and community. Above all, Rita leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Left to cherish Rita’s memory is her loving husband, Stanley Fessler, III; her siblings, Bonita Gonzales, JoAnne Craig, and Janey Hollister; niece, Christina Crook; siblings-in-law, Barbara Castillo, Joseph & Debra Fessler, and Greg & Jill Fessler; and cousin, Steve. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her siblings, Bernard Gonzales, Marcello Gonzales, and Mary Lou Gonzales; and niece, Kelly Hollister.
In keeping Rita’s wishes cremation has taken place and there are no services scheduled.
