Robert Allen

Robert Nigel Allen, Sr., age 76 years, of Caro, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born on May 11, 1930 in Flint to Marie (LaChance) and Fredrick Allen. Robert Allen married the former Mary Ann Green on February 2, 1952 in Flint. He was a roofer until his retirement, for many years at National and at the time of his retirement with Thomas Roofing in Cass City. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing Pac-man, as well as watching game shows and western movies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bob was a Tribal Elder of the Confederated Tribe of Grand Ronde. Surviving is his wife of fifty five years, Mary Ann; daughter Robin Allen and her son, Timothy Allen, of Caro; sons, Anthony Allen of Caro as well as Casey and Sandy Allen of New York; seven remaining grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy (Allen) Tarring; a son, Robert Nigel Allen, Jr.; and two brothers, Richard Allen and James Spohn. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Wigand officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial will take place at Wahjamega Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Robert Allen family discretionary fund, c/o Robin Allen.
