Robert Edward Ames

Robert Edward Ames, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2025. He was born on October 5, 1981 in Grand Rapids, the son of Randall and Becky (Allen) Ames. Robert graduated from West Ottawa High School where he was very active in athletics. He played soccer and basketball and loved participating in the Gus Macker tournaments. Robert took life day by day, living a care-free, nomadic life. His gypsy spirit and smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Kaya Ames and Teagan Ames; mother, Becky Ames; brother, Michael Ames; sister, Carrie (Matthew) Heuvel; nieces, Taylor and Morgan Heuvel; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Randall Ames and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Holland Fish & Game Club, 10840 Chicago Dr, Zeeland, MI 49464.
