Robert J. Amon, 85, of Sand Point, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.
Bob was born February 24, 1936 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Edna Amon. He graduated from De La Salle High School in Detroit and received a Bachelor’s degree from Detroit Institute of Technology. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps. On August 25, 1962 he married Judith Link at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit; she preceded him in death July 13, 2016.
Bob retired from Chrysler Corporation/Mopar Division as a marketing manager. After retiring he moved from Romeo to Sand Point in 1995. He was involved in his community with the Knights of Columbus, Caseville American Legion, Caseville Eagles Club (Past President), and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (St. Roch).
Bob is survived by his children Laura (Larry) Anger of New Jersey, Joseph (Jennifer) of North Carolina, Robert (Pam) of Kentucky, Leslie (Keith) Milne of Colorado and Lynn (Edward) Kromer of Washington; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Carol Marlinga.
A funeral mass will be 10:00am Tuesday, September 21st at St. Roch Catholic Church with Rev. T. J. Fleming presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 4:00pm and an Eagles Ritual at 5:00pm Monday.
