Robert Brown

Robert Lewis Brown, Sr., age 74, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his home, following a lingering illness. Robert was born January 25, 1938 in Marion, the son of Floyd & Ilah (Corner) Brown. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955, and retired as an Aviation Electronic Mechanic Chief after twenty years of service to the country. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Robert worked for several employers, but would eventually retire from the Tuscola Intermediate School District as a custodian. He was united in marriage with the former Joyce Leone Frank on July 27, 1957 in Traverse City, and the couple cherished more than fifty years together before her death in 2008. He was an avid reader that enjoyed old western movies, crime shows, country western music and polkas. In his mid-life, he enjoyed riding and collecting motorcycles. Robert is survived by four children and their spouses, Cindy Brown of Caro, Sherrie & Bryon Avery of Columbiaville, Monica & Donald Nugent of Caro, Robert & Marsha Brown II of Caro; his beloved dog and fifth child, Chico; six grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn & Shannon Avery of Columbiaville, Matthew & Jennifer Avery of Columbiaville, Amanda Gault and her fianc
