Robert James Deeg

Robert James Deeg, 74, of Sebewaing, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.

Bob was born February 9, 1948 in Bay City to the late Paul and Laura (Schultz) Deeg. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1966. He married Linda Miller on September 25, 1975 in Bad Axe.

Bob retired from Sebewaing Industries as a Hi-Lo Driver and worked on the family farm. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder, overseeing cemetery maintenance and member of the Bach-Kilmanagh school board. He was an umpire for many years with area church baseball leagues. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife Linda; children Jennifer Hanser of Las Vegas and Robert James Deeg II of Lapeer; grandson Owen Hanser; and sister Shirley Leiterman of Sebewaing. He was preceded in death by his son Marvin Smith III, and siblings Harold Deeg, Selma Schultz, Marge Fifield, Elsa Volz, Walt Deeg, Don Deeg, and Gerald Deeg.

Funeral services will be at Noon Thursday, March 31st at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bach with Rev. Thom Garrison officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in church. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
